Nuwa Senchi: The Indomitable Force of the Amazon
In the Awajún language, Nuwa Senchi means “Strong Woman.” More than just a name, it reflects Sonia Díaz , a Systems and Marketing Engineer who has transformed the heart of the Peruvian Amazon into a sanctuary of coffee excellence.
Her career path perfectly balances scientific rigor with the mystique of the land. Sonia honed her skills at the forefront of the industry, specializing in quality control at Origin Coffee Lab (2016-2019) and solidifying her strategic vision as a sales assistant at the Norcafé Peru Agricultural Cooperative (2020-2022). Since 2021, she has masterfully led Gocta Coffee , becoming a beacon of inspiration for new generations of coffee growers.
As an expert coffee taster, Sonia leads, alongside her siblings, a project where technical precision honors the bounty of the land. From the blessed soils of the Huamboya – Lonya Grande hamlet , she cultivates exotic varieties like Geisha and Marshmallow with devotion . With 3 hectares of production, she employs highly complex post-harvest processes, including meticulously controlled washed and natural methods, achieving exotic flavors such as coffee flower, jasmine, peach, and cherry.
The quality of their work has been recognized in the most demanding arenas, notably their logistical support for the Cup of Excellence (COE) Peru 2024 and 2025 , the country’s most prestigious coffee events. Each cup of Nuwa Senchi is not just a specialty coffee; it’s a family legacy defined by traceability and sustainability, designed to bring the untamed spirit of the Amazon to the most discerning palates in the world.
